Kariba mourns hospital worker killed in elephant attack

THE Kariba community is in mourning following the tragic death of a Kariba District Hospital employee, Gloria Konde, who was trampled by an elephant early Sunday morning in the Heights suburb.

Konde was on her way to church with her three children when the unfortunate incident occurred, leaving the community shocked and saddened by the loss.

Mashonaland West legislator for the Women’s Quota, Honourable Mutsa Murombedzi, described the incident as heartbreaking, saying human-wildlife conflict in the resort town has reached alarming levels.
