Highlanders will have to be at their best to halt Chicken Inn’s dominance when the two sides lock horns this Sunday at Barbourfields Stadium in a potentially explosive Bulawayo Derby.
History has it on good grounds that Bosso have played second-fiddle to the 2015 champions and has fared below par in the first round.
Faced with that uphill task, Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu believes only a three set of points will appease their multitude of fans.
“In terms of preparations, we have a bit of good and bad news. We still have our injured players who are still out Marvin Sibanda and Godfrey Makaruse resume light training. During our last game we had Pitisi also getting injured,” he said.
With four regulars Peter Mudhuwa, Archford Faira, Raphael Pitisi and Andrew Mbeba suspended over disciplinary issues, Bosso will have to look to the young stars for cover.
“We haven’t done well in derbies in the first round we dropped points but in the second round we did improve,” he added.
Without the dependable pair of Mudhuwa and Mbeba, Highlanders technical department have to find ways to stop the attacking duo of Brian Muza and Michael Charamba who destroyed Bosso in the reverse encounter.
