Bulawayo giants Highlanders are eager to keep a step ahead of Harare giants Dynamos as they prepare for a Premier Soccer League (PSL) encounter slatted for Rufaro stadium this Sunday.

The clash promises to be nothing short of a tense affair, with the two Zimbabwean football giants eager to claim bragging rights in domestic football’s battle for supremacy.

Highlanders coach Kelvin Kaindu is confident his team has been rejuvenated by the PSL mid-season break.

“The whole team is back in training except for one injury but the team is up to speed and we are ready to fight for our sport. We promise our fans that we will bring our A-game. The time away that we took has given us a fresh mindset and morale in the camp is good,” he said.

Highlanders welcome back goalkeeper Raphael Pitisi and midfielder McKinnon Mushore who were at the COSAFA Cup with the national team.

“Morale in the camp is good and I believe the experience I had during the COSAFA games will work to our advantage as I am also imparting to my teammates the experience I got,” said Pitisi.

Mushore added, “We are ready for this weekend`s match and we have been working hard. We won`t disappoint our fans.”

Highlanders have a psychological advantage over Dynamos after Bosso emerged 2-1 victors in the reverse fixture.

The Harare giants have also been rocked by a player revolt over unpaid dues with Dynamos players only returning to training this Wednesday.

PSL action starts on Saturday with defending champions Ngezi Platinum facing a somewhat easy assignment against relegation candidates Arenel Movers at Baobab Stadium. At the same time, Bikita Minerals play Herentals at Sakubva Stadium.

An intriguing match is slated for Wadzanayi Stadium where in-form Simba Bhora and Manica Diamonds clash, while Luveve will host struggling sides Bulawayo Chiefs and Green Fuel.

The last match of the day will see Yadah taking on Hwange at Heart Stadium.
