THE successful hosting of Zimbabwe’s 46th Independence Anniversary celebrations in Maphisa has continued to ignite optimism in Matabeleland South Province, with government reaffirming its commitment to complete all legacy projects initiated ahead of the national event.
This was revealed by Vice President Colonel (Rtd) Dr Kembo Mohadi when he addressed ZANU PF Matabeleland South Provincial Coordinating Committee meeting in Maphisa this Saturday.
Still basking in the Euphoria of having coordinated a memorable, a historic 46th National Independence Celebrations at Maphisa, the ZANU PF Provincial Coordinating Committee members who met at Minda High School this Saturday had nothing but praise for the Second Republic for having embarked on legacy projects that have tremendously transformed the province.
“When people ask us who we are and we tell them we are from Matabeleland South, there is honour we carry because of the historic Independence celebrations we hosted,” ZANU PF Matabeleland South Provincial Chairperson, Cde Mangaliso Ndhlovu said.
“We are happy that government has transformed this province. All the legacy projects have a bearing in our lives and the people are grateful,” Minister of Matabeleland South Provincial Affairs and Devolution, Honourable Albert Nguluvhe added.
The Vice President, who addressed the first PCC after Independence, promised the province that government will finish all the independence legacy projects.
“We will complete all the projects and I can assure you that we have never failed. We delivered the Independence we promised to Matabeleland and now all the projects will be completed so that we fulfill our promise to the people,” he said.
Other issues that were discussed were the state of the party and the Constitutional Amendment Number Three Bill, with members rallying behind the bill, saying it will strengthen governance system and ensure policy continuity.
