Dynamos clinch Uhuru Cup

Story by Tamuka Charakupa

DYNAMOS won the Uhuru Cup after beating bitter rivals, Highlanders 1-nil in a match played this Thursday afternoon at Vahera Stadium at Murambinda.

A second minute goal by Dynamos star midfielder, Donald Mudadi sealed the deal for the Harare giants, who claimed the Independence trophy at the expense of bitter rivals, Highlanders who were seeking the 4th Uhuru Cup on the trot.

Last year, Highlanders won the the same Cup when they defeated Dembare on penalties in Mt Darwin.

Mudadi is proud to have brought the trophy home, a silverware which he believes will boost their form.

Winning coach Genesis Mangombe is convinced that his team is back to winning ways while Highlands blamed the loss on poor performance.

The win saw Dynamos walking home with 15 thousand United States dollars.
