DIASPORA Insurance has announced a major executive restructuring aimed at strengthening leadership and positioning the company for accelerated global expansion, with founder Mr Jeff Madzingo stepping into a new role as Executive Chairman.
The strategic shift, announced from the company’s headquarters in Birmingham on Tuesday, will see Madzingo relinquish day-to-day executive responsibilities after 14 years at the helm, transitioning into a role focused on corporate strategy, governance, investor relations and long-term vision.
A new Chief Executive Officer is set to be appointed effective June 1 to oversee operations and drive the company’s next phase of growth.
Madzingo, who founded the company and guided its rise into a global provider of insurance and financial services for diaspora communities, said the move is designed to consolidate gains while preparing for expansion.
“Our growth has been phenomenal in every respect, thanks to our clients. Unmanaged growth can be equally detrimental to the business, so this planned and strategic reorganisation speaks to capacity building meant to support growth and guarantee operational efficiencies,” he said.
Under his leadership, Diaspora Insurance has expanded its footprint to serve more than 40 African nationalities worldwide, introducing innovative products and strengthening its brand across international markets.
The Board of Directors said the restructuring is expected to enhance operational efficiency and improve governance as the company scales.
In a statement, the board expressed confidence that the new leadership structure will “create greater agility, sharper operational focus and stronger governance” as Diaspora Insurance continues to grow its global presence.
The company noted that a formal announcement regarding the appointment of the new Chief Executive Officer will be made on June 1.
