HARARE-THE Manyame Falcons Netball Club has rebranded to Chapungu Queens, marking a significant transformation from a military base team to a national sporting powerhouse.
The rebranding reflects the club’s growing ambition and its successful expansion into a multi-sport entity, now boasting a women’s football side Chapungu Queens FC, currently topping the Women’s Premier Soccer League alongside a men’s football team and a volleyball squad.
The announcement was made at a ceremonial event attended by senior officials, including Manyame Air Base Commander, Air Commodore Ernest Matsambira, and Romapix Group Communications Executive, Tanaka Sitima, whose organisation unveiled a new sponsorship package and team kits for the netball outfit.
“We are thrilled to see the growth and impact of Chapungu Queens, as a military organisation, we understand that sports play a pivotal role not only in our development but also in fostering unity and resilience in our communities. Sports are more than games; they are about teamwork and discipline. They help us grow as individuals and as a community,” Manyame Air Base Commander, Ernest Matsambira said.

“The sponsorship kit symbolises more than just materials and resources, it represents the trust, dedication, and mutual respect between our organisations. It is a reflection of the hard work and passion that both teams have poured into the partnership,” Romapix Group communications executive, Tanaka Sitima said.
