BULAWAYO giants, Highlanders, are hoping for a change of fortune against bitter city rivals, Chicken Inn when the two teams clash in the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League set for Barbourfields Stadium this Sunday.
Highlanders have not beaten Chicken Inn at Barbourfields Stadium in five years, and during that period they have managed to draw away at Luveve.
Bosso are coming from an away win, but Barbourfields is no longer the fortress after losing 3-2 to Simba Bhora in their last home encounter.
Bosso have not won at home in their last three encounters losing two and also managing a draw ahead of the match against bitter city rivals that just know how to beat them in their backyard.
Despite the seemingly waning fortunes, Highlanders head coach Kelvin Kaindu is putting on a brave face.
“Sometimes it is very difficult to watch, you know there’s a difference when you watch the opponents play and just relying on the information from the people that have watched them, when you ask a coach or probably the members of the team, they are specifics that we’re focusing on like whether somebody tells you this is how they’re playing, but like I said they are a team, their energy levels are very high. We just want to focus on what we’ve been doing and hopefully, we maintain our ground record and keep up the momentum,” said Highlanders coach, Kelvin Kaindu.
Chicken Inn on the other hand have been struggling despite finally managing to win at home in mid-week against Ngezi Platinum Stars.
