BENJAMIN Lock says he is fully fit and has set his sights on qualifying for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles after overcoming injury setbacks that disrupted his campaign last year.
Zimbabwe’s top-ranked tennis player confirmed his return to full fitness and is now focused on rebuilding momentum on the international circuit. He is expected to begin his season with regional tournaments before heading to the United States as part of his Olympic qualification preparations.
His younger brother, Courtney Lock is also ramping up his campaign, with a string of tournaments lined up in China as the pair seek to secure vital ranking points ahead of the Olympic cycle.
The Lock brothers narrowly missed out on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, falling just one place short in both singles and doubles qualification.
Benjamin Lock is among athletes benefiting from the Olympic Solidarity Scholarship programme under the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee, which provides funding support as competitors prepare for the Olympics.
