FORMER Dynamos FC captain Emmanuel Jalai has won his first piece of silverware in South Africa after helping Durban City FC clinch the Nedbank Cup with a 2-1 victory over TS Galaxy in Saturday’s final.

Jalai came off the bench in the 80th minute, playing a key role as his side held on for victory to secure South Africa’s premier knockout title.

The substitute appearance capped a memorable moment for the former Dynamos skipper, as Durban City also booked a place in the CAF Confederation Cup, marking Jalai’s first experience of continental club football.

On the opposing side, fellow Zimbabwean forward Junior Zindoga played the full match for TS Galaxy but could not prevent his team from falling short in the tightly contested final.

The triumph marks a significant milestone in Jalai’s career as he begins a new chapter in South African football.
