A 43-year-old man from Glaudina in Harare has been remanded in custody after appearing in court facing armed robbery charges linked to a US$22 000 heist at Honey Pot Maheu.

Tonderai Muzira allegedly committed the offence on May 19, 2025, together with accomplices armed with pistols, iron bars and hammers.

According to court papers, the gang targeted the company’s offices, where they overpowered security personnel before force-marching employees to a workshop.

The suspects allegedly broke into the accounts office, blasted open a cash safe and stole US$22 108 before fleeing the scene in a getaway vehicle.

Detectives from the Criminal Investigation Department later received information linking Muzira to the robbery, leading to his arrest.

The court denied him bail, and he has since been remanded in custody as investigations continue.
