VICTORIA Chitepo Provincial Hospital in Mutare has received medical supplies worth US$62,000 under a Public Private Partnership with the Higher Life Foundation and Celebration Health.
The consignment, handed over on Wednesday, is expected to significantly improve service delivery at the provincial referral hospital by easing shortages of critical consumables and equipment.
Medical Superintendent Dr Hilary Makiwa described the intervention as timely support for the health institution.
“This contribution comes at a critical time when our healthcare systems require robust support to maintain high standards of patient care. The provision of these essential supplies is not merely a donation; it is a lifeline for many and a testament to the power of philanthropic partnership,” he said.
Hospital matron Ms Rachel Magutsa said the supplies would enhance orthopaedic and general procedures while strengthening post-operative care.
“The medical supplies will be instrumental in providing high-quality consumables and equipment for orthopaedic and general procedures, ensuring that post-operative care and daily medical needs are met without the burden of shortages,” she said.
Celebration Health manager Ms Nkosi Kapswara said the partnership reflects a shared commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare.
“This US$62,000 investment in medical supplies is not just a logistical achievement; it is a profound act of stewardship. When we partner with the Higher Life Foundation, we are aligning with a vision that sees a healthy Zimbabwe as a prosperous Zimbabwe,” she said.
The initiative underscores the growing role of public-private partnerships in bridging funding gaps, reducing mortality rates and strengthening healthcare delivery, particularly for vulnerable communities.
Government says it continues to bolster the national health system through infrastructure development, strategic partnerships and targeted investments across the sector.
