Mberengwa community partners ZANU PF to establish skills training centre

The Mberengwa community has partnered the ruling ZANU PF party in the establishment of a skills training centre at Muketi Business Centre in Mberengwa District.

Inspired by the Second Republic’s development philosophy of Nyika Inovakwa Nevene Vayo / Ilizwe Lakhiwa Ngabanikazi Balo and the rural industrialisation drive, residents of the Muketi area have joined hands with ZANU PF leadership to construct the facility.

The skills training centre, which is expected to open early next year, aligns with Government efforts to promote education and vocational training as key pillars of community development.

“Once this structure is completed, we will enrol for life-changing courses that are practical and beneficial. The project is now more than 80 per cent complete and is in line with the President’s people-centred rural industrialisation drive,” said a community member.

Women in the community say the centre will enhance self-sufficiency and income generation.

“As women, we will be able to sustain ourselves through the skills we will acquire here. We will produce goods that meet market demands and generate income,” another community member said.

Local leadership believes the training centre will play a critical role in job creation and youth empowerment.

“Initiatives like this are highly commendable. We have been concerned about youth involvement in drug abuse in the district. With facilities such as this centre, young people will have opportunities to be engaged productively,” said Mberengwa Central legislator, Honourable Tinashe Shumba.

“I am confident that this initiative will contribute to economic growth in the district while improving educational outcomes.”

The centre will offer programmes tailored to modern workforce demands, equipping young people with practical skills to seize future opportunities and contribute meaningfully to their communities.
