PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has strengthened ZANU PF’s operational capacity by handing over 10 vehicles to members of the party’s Council of Elders, while the Information and Publicity Department received new digital tools to enhance its nationwide outreach.

The handover ceremony, held at State House in Harare on Friday, forms part of ongoing efforts by the ruling party to strengthen its structures and improve organisational efficiency across the country.

Chairperson of the Council of Elders, Dr Sydney Sekeramayi said the gesture demonstrated the President Mnangagwa’s continued recognition of senior party members and his commitment to nationwide development.

“We have seen the development that you are rolling out in all parts of the country. We have seen road infrastructure, health centres, and schools are being implemented across the country.”

Several elders expressed gratitude, noting that the vehicles would enable them to carry out their mandates more effectively in various communities.

“As elders, one would think we have been forgotten, but with President Mnangagwa continues to remember the people he worked with, we are very much grateful,” said Cde Edna Madzongwe.

Cde Idah Mashonganyika expressed gratitude to the President for giving them the vehicles to ensure they carry out their mandates in various communities.

Another member, Cde Gibson Maisa, added: “The President has proved that he leaves no one and no place behind, we support his vision and it will become a reality.”

In addition to the vehicles, the ZANU PF Information and Publicity Department received iPads, laptops and mobile phones aimed at modernising its operations and improving its communication capacity.

“We are glad we have received a bevy of tools of trade to ensure that we contribute immensely to the development of Zimbabwe. It also comes at a time when we just launched NDS2, which aligns to the country’s development mantra,” ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa said.

The ZANU PF Council of Elders is chaired by Dr Sekeramayi and includes senior members such as Cde Edna Madzongwe, Cde David Parirenyatwa, Cde Josiah Hungwe, Cde Idah Mashonganyika, Cde Maboyi Ncube, Cde Maina Mandava, Cde Angeline Masuku, Cde Gibson Maisa and Cde Enock Sibanda.
