CASTLE Lager Premier Soccer League champions Scottland strengthened their grip at the top of the table after cruising to a 3-0 victory over FC Hunters in a Matchday 21 clash at Rufaro Stadium on Saturday.
The win extended Scottland’s impressive league run to eight consecutive victories, taking Norman Mapeza’s side to 46 points.
Moses Shidolo continued his rich scoring form by opening the scoring in the 27th minute, finding the net for the third successive match to hand the hosts a deserved half-time lead.
FC Hunters responded positively after the restart and searched for an equaliser, but Scottland’s disciplined defence held firm to preserve their advantage.
Walter Musona wrapped up the victory with two late goals, sealing a comfortable win and reinforcing Scottland’s title credentials.
Elsewhere, Bulawayo Chiefs secured a narrow 1-0 victory over MWOS, while Ngezi Platinum Stars edged Chicken Inn 3-2. TelOne and FC Platinum shared the spoils in a goalless draw.
Matchday 21 action concludes on Sunday with Highlanders hosting Simba Bhora at Barbourfields Stadium, Hardrock facing CAPS United at Chahwanda Stadium, Manica Diamonds taking on ZPC Kariba at Sakubva Stadium, and Triangle United meeting Herentals at Gibbo Stadium.
