Simba Bhora’s title hopes dented after stalemate with Triangle

SIMBA BHORA’S Castle Lager Premier Soccer League title ambitions have taken a big dent after they were held to a goalless draw by Triangle United at Gibbo Stadium this Sunday.

The defending champions came into the match with hopes of using their match in hand to close the gap on log leaders Scottland FC, but after 90 frustrating minutes in Chiredzi, Simba were left with just a point and a mountain to climb.

The result sees Scottland maintain a three-point lead at the top of the table with four matches to go.

Simba Bhora have now won just one of their last five matches, raising concerns over their title defence as they prepare for a tough run-in.

Their final four fixtures include a visit to Ngezi at the Baobab, a home clash with Highlanders, an away trip to Bikita Minerals, and a potential decider against Yadah at Wadzanai.

Meanwhile, Scottland have a slightly more manageable fixture list with games against MWOS, Kwekwe United, Green Fuel and TelOne.

All eyes will be on the blockbuster Matchday 31 showdown between Scottland and MWOS.

MWOS, who sit just four points behind, are still very much in the hunt, and that clash could effectively determine where the PSL title ends up this season.

Simba Bhora will now need to win all their remaining matches and hope other results go their way to stand any chance of retaining the crown.
