A reckless commuter omnibus driver has been sentenced to over two years in prison for failing to stop at a red traffic light on the busy intersection of Simon Mazorodze Road and Remembrance Drive in Mbare last month.
Mandava, convicted by a Mbare Magistrate on Monday, will also serve six additional months for driving without a valid licence.
He was fined US$100 for ignoring police instructions and US$200 for giving false information to authorities, initially using a fake name during arrest.
Police investigations later confirmed his true identity, leading to the extra penalties.
