IN a landmark development for Matabeleland North, the Master of the High Court of Zimbabwe is set to open its first provincial office in Victoria Falls this Tuesday.
The new office is expected to ease access to justice and critical public services for residents, who previously had to travel more than 400 kilometres to Bulawayo for assistance.
By bringing these essential services closer to the people, the new office will not only enhance administrative efficiency but also support the government’s decentralisation agenda, guided by the principle of “leaving no one and no place behind.”
The Office of the Master of the High Court is mandated to oversee and supervise the administration of deceased estates, insolvent estates, companies under corporate rescue or liquidation, as well as manage the Guardian’s Fund, among other responsibilities.
With this new office, Victoria Falls joins a growing list of cities and towns that already have the Office, including Harare, Bulawayo, Gweru, Masvingo, Mutare, Chinhoyi and Chitungwiza.
