ZIMBABWE will resume its bid to move up the tennis rankings when they take on Algeria this Thursday in the Davis Cup Africa Zone Group three tournament at Harare Sports Club.
The hosts suffered a shock 3-0 (three love) defeat to Senegal in their opening match on Tuesday.
Thursday’s opponents; Algeria are winless after two ties against Namibia and Nigeria, suffering a 2-1 loss in both encounters.
Five countries hosts; Zimbabwe, Namibia, Algeria, Nigeria and Senegal are battling to grab the three slots to play the Euro-Africa Zone Group play-offs, leaving the bottom two relegated to Africa Group 4.
Zimbabwe are now a pale shadow of a giant they used to be when they used to contest in the Elite World Group.
