A 35-year-old man who allegedly robbed a gold dealer at gunpoint of over 300 grams of gold worth more than US$30 000 has been remanded in custody on charges of robbery.
Tendai Matura allegedly threatened to kill the complainant before stealing 302 grams of gold from the complainant.
The accused is alleged to have used a Range Rover car as a getaway vehicle to escape from the crime scene.
Police launched an investigation which led to his arrest.
The state alleges that they recovered cash he possibly got from selling the stolen gold and the vehicle he used as a getaway vehicle.
He was remanded in custody and is expected back in court this Tuesday for bail application.
