Breeder of pitbulls that killed passerby faces court for rape, drug allegations

HARARE – PITBULLS breeder, Mike Mupinga, of Bluffhill, Harare, whose dogs mauled a passerby to death on Saturday, is expected to appear in court this Wednesday for a default inquiry related to allegations of rape and drug dealing.

Mupinga, who is already facing a culpable homicide charge after his three pitbulls and a rottweiler allegedly mauled a passerby to death, is now under scrutiny for failing to appear in court for the separate charges.

Court proceedings for allegations of culpable homicide were rolled over to this Friday to allow Mupinga’s defence team to gather relevant documents for the inquiry.

In the earlier incident, the dogs were reportedly left unattended and attacked a passerby, leading to fatal injuries.

The dogs have since been taken into custody by the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA).
