President Mnangagwa to officiate at culture month launch in Chiredzi

CHIREDZI-PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is expected to preside over the culture month national launch celebrations in Chiredzi this Thursday.

Thousands of people have converged at Rusununguko secondary school grounds in Chiredzi for the celebrations.

The commemorations are running under the theme: “Celebrating indigenous voices.”

The theme seeks to recognise, promote, and honour the linguistic diversity and cultural heritage of indigenous communities, which include the Shangani mainly found in the Lowveld.

The event celebrates Zimbabwe’s diverse culture and the impact of the arts industry on the economy.

Zimbabwe has a rich cultural heritage, and the culture month commemorations will see some of the heritage being displayed.

The culture month launch also serve as a platform for showcasing Zimbabwe’s success stories in cultural development.
