Story by Ian Zvoma

THE Pan-African Parliament (PAP) is strengthening its monitoring and evaluation mechanisms in line with its mandate of ensuring the full participation of African people in the economic development and integration of the continent.

This emerged at a validation workshop of the PAP Strategic Plan for the next five years in Midrand, South Africa, this Friday.

The event was officially opened by PAP President Chief Fortune Charumbira, who stressed the importance of a results based strategic plan.

He also emphasised that the strategic plan should contribute to the achievement of the broad objectives of the African Union, including Agenda 2063, which speaks to inclusive and sustainable development.

The event is being held ahead of the 4th session of the 6th Pan-African Parliament, which gets underway on Monday next week in Midrand, South Africa.
