THE late Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Affairs, Mr Clive Mphambela has been laid to rest at Glen Forest Memorial Park in Harare.
Family, friends and colleagues bade farewell to the late Permanent Secretary this Monday, with his family describing him as a unifier.
“He was the glue of this family. He made sure that he was in touch with all relatives. We have lost a person who was loving not only to his family but to everyone,” said brother to the late, Mr Shepherd Mphambela.
Colleagues said the late permanent secretary was a hard worker.
“I knew him as a young man who was dedicated to his work. He was sharp and he did his work wholeheartedly,” noted Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Justice Legal and Parliamentary Affairs Permanent Secretary, Mrs Vimbai Nyemba.
Mr Mphambela was also a sportsman, who dedicated his time to improve the games he played.
“As chess players, we have lost a committed man who went out of his way to improve the game. He contributed a lot to the sport and we have really lost a champion of the game,” said Zimbabwe Chess Federation PublicRelationsOfficer, Mr Elisha Thabo.
The Permanent Secretary Mphambela, who succumbed to injuries sustained in a road accident that occurred last Thursday in Chivhu is survived by wife, Loveness and four children.
