The celebrations recognise Professor Mubako’s immense contribution to Zimbabwe’s legal, academic and diplomatic development over several decades.
Widely regarded as one of Zimbabwe’s foremost intellectuals, Professor Mubako has played a pivotal role in shaping the nation’s governance and foreign policy architecture.
Among his many accomplishments, he was the founding editor of Moto Magazine in 1958 and served as Chief Legal Adviser during the historic Lancaster House Agreement negotiations in 1979.
Following independence, he became Zimbabwe’s first black Minister of Justice, helping to lay the legal foundation for the newly independent nation.
Professor Mubako also served Zimbabwe in various diplomatic capacities, contributing significantly to the country’s international relations and foreign policy formulation.
He currently serves as Board Chairperson of the Institute of African Knowledge, which is spearheading the development of the Museum of African Liberation, a landmark project aimed at preserving Africa’s liberation history.
