ZIMBABWE’S Under-13 rugby team concluded their South Africa Rugby Youth Week campaign in Johannesburg on Saturday with a 5-5 draw against Leeus in their final fixture.
The result rounded off their tournament participation, marking a hard-fought finish to their fixtures at the annual youth rugby competition.
The Junior Sables, who opened their campaign on Wednesday, had earlier suffered a 10-0 defeat to Griffons in their second outing.
Despite the mixed results, the week-long tournament provided the youngsters with a valuable opportunity to test themselves against some of the region’s top emerging talent while showcasing the continued growth of grassroots rugby in Zimbabwe.
The Junior Sables are now on their way home and are expected to arrive at Robert Gabriel Mugabe International Airport this Saturday evening.
