ZIMBABWE has begun preparations for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games women’s football qualifiers following a meeting between ZIFA vice president Loveness Mukura and the Zimbabwe Olympic Committee (ZOC) leadership in Harare this Thursday.

The engagement focused on strengthening coordination and aligning preparations as the national women’s team sets its sights on the Olympic qualifying campaign.

Mukura and Acting ZIFA General Secretary Norman Gwangwadza held discussions with ZOC Chief Executive Officer Marlene Gadzirayi and her team as preparations for the qualifiers set for later this year gather momentum.

Zimbabwe’s road to Los Angeles begins with a two-legged qualifier against Malawi in October as the Mighty Warriors gun for a place at the 2028 Olympics.

The Mighty Warriors have been to the global showpiece once, after featuring at the 2016 Rio Games.
