THE Zimbabwe under-19 men’s cricket team is set to face off against Ireland in a five-match Youth One Day International series starting this Thursday at Harare Sports Club.
The series against Ireland will provide valuable experience for the Young Chevrons as they fine-tune their skills ahead of the global event.
Zimbabwe and Ireland will clash at Harare Sports Club on April 3, 5 and 7 before moving to Takashinga Cricket Club for the final two matches on April 10 and 12.
Ireland’s 14-player squad, captained by Oliver Riley, is set to test the Young Chevrons’ prowess on their first-ever tour of Zimbabwe.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe will co-host the 2026 ICC Under-19 World Cup with Namibia in January next year.
As co-hosts, Zimbabwe has already secured direct qualification for the tournament and is using the series against Ireland as preparations for the World Cup.
