Zim welcomes Asian travel agents amid growing tourism appeal

ZIMBABWE is currently hosting nine travel agents from key Asian markets, including Singapore, Hong Kong, and the Philippines.

The agents arrived in the country this Friday through the Victoria Falls International Airport, courtesy of Qatar Airways, Thompsons Africa, and Gateway Singapore.

As part of a familiarisation tour, the agents will experience the country’s iconic attractions, such as the Victoria Falls rainforest, The Boma dining experience, and site inspections of various accommodation facilities in Victoria Falls.

This tour highlights Zimbabwe’s increasing appeal to new markets, particularly in Asia. With Hong Kong’s outbound tourism market projected to reach 863.2 million by 2025, Zimbabwe is poised to capitalise on this growth.

The Ministry of Tourism and Hospitality Industry is actively pursuing strategies to bridge low-season gaps by developing new international markets and bolstering domestic tourism.

This initiative is part of the ministry’s efforts to promote Zimbabwe as a premier tourist destination.

By engaging with Asian travel agents, Zimbabwe aims to increase its visibility and attract more visitors from this lucrative market, ultimately contributing to the country’s economic growth and development.
