THE successful hosting of the 44th SADC Summit continues to send echoes across the country and the ruling ZANU PF party has congratulated President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the Chairmanship of the trading bloc.
The revolutionary party says the assumption of the SADC Chairmanship by President Emmerson Mnangagwa encourages the country to work hard to ensure that industrialisation becomes a reality through attracting global capital.
Briefing journalists at the party’s headquarters in Harare, ZANU PF Secretary for Information and Publicity, Ambassador Christopher Mutsvangwa said the summit offered an opportunity for heads of state and government to witness the development trajectory that Zimbabwe is on.
“Zimbabweans are proud that President Emmerson Mnangagwa assumed the chairmanship of SADC and is the best foot forward showing all and sundry that he is in a class of his own. People have seen the results of what leadership is doing in Zimbabwe and we congratulate you for the successful hosting of the event.”
Cde Mutsvangwa said the assumption of chairmanship by Zimbabwe warrants all the country’s citizens to work hard to make industrialisation a reality.
“We will celebrate the chairmanship through working hard to push and achieve the industrialisation agenda, more hard work and more ways of attracting global capital,” he said.
Ambassador Mutsvangwa also noted the report by the outgoing chairperson of the Organ on Politics, Defence and Security Cooperation regarding elections in the region.
“What the President of Zambia said on SADC elections has put to rest the issues of elections, he said elections were peaceful.”
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is now the SADC chairperson.
