WPSL clubs in support of league’s postponement

Story by Anashe Murombedzi, Sports Reporter

THE Women Premier Soccer League (WPSL) clubs have thrown their weight behind the executives’ decision to delay the season, stating this offers a good window to enhance their preparations.

Delayed not denied, various clubs under the Women Soccer League are looking at the board’s recent decision to postpone the league as an opportunity for them to recalibrate and enhance their preparations for the season.

“We are in support of the postponement of the league as this is meant to professionalise the game. As clubs, we need to comply with the requirements of the league. This will help and have a smooth running of the league,” said Correctional ¹Queens Administrator, Tapiwa Nyanzira.

“Have accepted it things like that can happen and we now have to move on to the next stage with our preparations and looking for the resumption,” said Herentals Queen’s head coach, Simbarashe Dedza.

The postponement of the league is meant to provide FIFA an opportunity to register players, as well as facilitate payment of affiliation fees while the league’s constitution will also be ratified.
