Zimbabwe is participating at the 12th edition of the World Governments Summit in Dubai, running from the 11th to the 13th of this month.
The summit brings together over 400 ministers, with 30 ministerial meetings and roundtable sessions.
Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to the United Arab Emirates, Ambassador Lovemore Mazemo spoke on the significance of the summit to Zimbabwe, noting that the country can leverage on the various bilateral relations with the UAE.
“This year’s session will explore strategies to enhance government transparency and efficiency, foster sustainable economic growth, develop urban resilience in the face of climate change, and ensure healthcare systems are equipped for evolving global challenges,” he said.
Ambassador Mazemo also spoke on the various business opportunities available for Zimbabwe to explore.
“The world is interconnected, and current global transformations will impact us all. The potential for opportunities is great, and our collective strength lies in our unity, shared vision, and joint efforts to achieve sustainable and equal development for all. The summit offers a global platform for dialogue and the exchange of visions and ideas at a time when societies are in pressing need of concerted and joint cooperative efforts to confront challenges that cannot be addressed individually,” he added.
Zimbabwe’s delegation is being led by the Deputy Chief Secretary in the Office of the President and Cabinet, Mr Willard Manungo.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwe’s Minister of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water and Rural Development, Dr Anxious Masuka has been nominated to chair Sustainable Development Goal Number Two on Zero Hunger under the Global Councils on SDGs.
