The stage is set for the 114th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show which starts on Monday, with 530 exhibitors having registered to showcase their products.
At least 72,000 square metres of space has so far been taken up out of the 78,000 square metres available for the week-long show, which runs from the 26th to the 31st of this month.
Giving an update on preparatory works, Zimbabwe Agricultural Society (ZAS) chief executive officer Dr Andrew Matibiri said 12 foreign exhibitors from countries such as China and Brazil have also registered for participation this year.
“People are now bringing in their displays. We have 530 exhibitors who were verified and working on their stands. We are looking at 560. We will also be short of space such that other exhibitors will not be accommodated this year. We have 12 participants from outside the country like Brazil, China and so on. We had a total of 78 000 and 72 000 have been taken up,” he said.
Meanwhile, various unique activities and exhibitions have been lined up for this year’s extravaganza with the Annual Agricultural Conference slated for Wednesday next week.
“Apart from the usual entertainment and displays, we are focusing on livestock where we have revamped our livestock section. There will be many types of breeds for livestock to be showcased. We also have our annual agricultural conference to be held on Wednesday. Apart from that, we have business conferences lined up such as agriculture interface, mining interface and Research Council of Zimbabwe Conference,” he added.
The 114th edition of the Zimbabwe Agricultural Show will run under the theme: ‘Cultivating Prosperity, Growing Business, Innovating for Change, Nurturing Our Future’.
