Zimbabwe rugby front rower Cleopas Kundiona Junior is excited about the future after sealing a move to reigning English Rugby champions, Northampton Saints.
The 26-year-old tight head prop has spent the last three years in the French Pro D2 with USON Nevers after joining them from third-tier side SO Chambéry.
Kundiona, who also had a two-year stint at South African giants Sharks, is now set to make the biggest move of his career, joining the reigning English Premiership champions Northampton Saints at the end of the current season.
“I am excited about the opportunity, it’s not out of my making but just purely God’s work. I have worked hard to be here and never let disappointment shape my future. I had a nasty injury at one point but I was always optimistic that I will come back and now here I am – ready to join the Saints,” he said.
The Sables star’s move to Northampton Saints comes after English second-rower George Smith completed a move in the opposite direction from the Premiership side to Nevers.
Kundiona is a key member of the Sables, who are aiming to qualify for the 2027 Rugby World Cup.
Zimbabwe are the current Rugby Africa Cup champions and will qualify for the World Cup if they defend their title in July.
