FC Platinum were the biggest winners from the Premier Soccer League weekend action after returning to the top of the log following a 3-1 victory over Arenel Movers at Mandava Stadium on Saturday.
The Zvishavane-based side were dethroned from the top last weekend, but their victory this weekend coupled with other results saw them returning to the apex.
Their close nemesis, Simba Bhora dropped points after settling for a one-all draw with Dynamos in a highly anticipated match following the elevation of Lloyd Chigowe to be interim head coach after Genesis Mangombe resigned mid-week.
FC Platinum also managed to create some breathing space after Ngezi Platinum Stars and Highlanders who are also in the title race settled for a one-all draw.
After 23 rounds of action, FC Platinum are at the apex with 45 points, closely followed by Simba Bhora on 44, while Ngezi are third with 38 points and Highlanders conclude the top four with 37 points.
The spills and thrills were not just limited to the top of the table, as it was also action galore at the bottom of the log.
Hwange moved off the foot of the table after edging fellow relegation candidates Chegutu Pirates one-nil at the Colliery.
The victory saw Hwange moving to 16th position with 20 points, while Chegutu Pirates slipped to 17th, a point behind, with Arenel back to the bottom of the log after a hiding by FC Platinum.
