PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa is at the City Sports Centre in Harare for an interface with veterans of the liberation struggle, which coincides with the launch of the Presidential War Veterans Empowerment Programme.
The programme is part of other broader initiatives being undertaken by the Second Republic to uplift the livelihoods of veterans of the liberation struggle.
In the recent past, various empowerment programmes for veterans of the liberation struggle have successfully been implemented and these include the War Veterans Empowerment Fund, War Veterans Borehole Sinking Programme, and the War Veterans Housing Scheme.
Last month, the government signed a memorandum of understanding with a private developer, Prevail Group of Companies, that will see veterans of the liberation struggle benefiting from residential stands under the Presidential Stands for Veterans of the Liberation Struggle Programme.
