PRESIDENT Dr Emmerson Mnangagwa has arrived in Accra, Ghana, for a three-day state visit, which will conclude with the signing of bilateral agreements between Zimbabwe and Ghana.
He touched down at Accra International Airport this Wednesday evening and was welcomed by his Ghanaian counterpart, His Excellency John Mahama, alongside Zimbabwe’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Trade, Professor Amon Murwira, Zimbabwe’s Ambassador to Ghana, Kufa Chinoza, embassy officials, and other accredited diplomats.
He was accorded full military honours.
Upon arrival, President Mnangagwa inspected a Guard of Honour mounted by the Ghana Armed Forces and was honoured with a 21-gun salute.
To kick-start his State Visit, President Mahama will host a state banquet in honour of President Mnangagwa as part of celebrating the cordial relations between Ghana and Zimbabwe.
Besides the signing of the Memoranda of Understanding covering various areas of mutual interest, President Mnangagwa is scheduled to tour Sweden Medical Centre, Accra Compost and Recycling Plant to get an appreciation of Ghana’s progress in health care and waste management technologies.
President Mnangagwa will also tour the Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park and is expected to lay a wreath at the tomb of Ghana’s founding father.
