MASVINGO Province has taken a significant step towards modernising its judicial services, with 10 magistrates’ courts, including those in Zaka, Bikita, Chiredzi, and Chikombedzi, going digital following the launch of Phase 4.2 of the Integrated Electronic Case Management System (IECMS) this Wednesday.
The transition to a paperless system marks a milestone in Zimbabwe’s ongoing drive to enhance efficiency, accessibility, and transparency in the delivery of justice.
The IECMS is expected to streamline case management, secure court records, and facilitate faster processing of both civil and criminal matters.
The digital framework will also benefit litigants, many of whom have historically faced high travel costs and delays attending court sessions. Under the new system, select civil proceedings can now be conducted virtually, reducing logistical challenges and ensuring broader access to justice.
