President Emmerson Mnangagwa says as Africa and China pursue co-operation, they must leverage their combined population of about 2.8 billion people.
President Mnangagwa, who was making his presentation at the high-level meeting on ‘Strengthening the Exchange of Experience on Governance and Exploring Paths to Modernisation’, said the strength in numbers is beneficial in respect of markets and the stronger voice of the global South.
The Head of State said the Africa and China bloc provides an endless spring of shared ideas, knowledge, cultures, values and principles for a better future for all.
He noted that working together, Africa and China offer the world diverse civilisations, with distinctive governance experiences and capabilities which can leap forward the quest for a stronger community for a shared future.
A number of high-level meetings to discuss Africa’s development and its partnership with China are being held during the summit.
