An Indonesian delegation led by the Asian country’s top envoy to Zimbabwe, His Excellency Dewa Sastrawan toured the Museum of African Liberation in Harare this Thursday to get an appreciation of the works being done before handing over the Dasa Sila Bandung Plaque to the Museum.
“The Dasa Sila Bandung Plaque is a symbol which lists the ten principles of peaceful co-existence. It was documented by the people of Indonesia in 1955 at the Bandung Conference under the title of ‘Declaration on the Promotion of World Peace and Cooperation’. We intend to come back with more artifacts to make the Indonesian corner at the Museum. This shows the relationship that we have as the two countries,” he said.
The delegation which includes Indonesian parliamentarians was hosted by INSTAK chief executive officer, Ambassador Kwame Muzavazi.
“The artifact given to us today is greatly appreciated as it resembles the principles of peaceful co-existence. We will not give you a small corner but rather an Indonesian space so that you will be able to showcase Indonesia. We thank you for showing interest in the Museum and we hope to continue working together,” he said.
Zimbabwe and Indonesia enjoy cordial relations which have seen the two countries working together on various fronts, including health and tourism.
