FUTSAL Zim partners local media firm to expand reach

Story by Raynald Ngwarati, Sports Reporter

The Northern Region FUTSAL league returned for Week Four Action this weekend, coinciding with FUTSAL Zimbabwe’s ground-breaking partnership with a local media firm, SportsEvolution360, to increase the sport’s visibility and professionalism.

“Today we had a signing; the signing shows that FUTSAL is not into one’s pocket, that’s why 360 have joined us,” said FUTSAL Zimbabwe President, Philani Banda.

“We’ve seen young talent, we’ve seen unheralded talent that is full in this side of Harare and also the side of Bulawayo. The association wants to make sure that there is visibility, there is exposure,” SportsEvolution360 Media chief executive officer, Tinotenda Sakarombe explained.

On the pitch, Bhundu Boiz could not hold to top spot in the Northern Region FUTSAL league this weekend after choking to their eventual successors Sunshine Stars.

Sunshine Stars carefully executed an attack-minded game plan which propelled them to the top of the standings after four rounds of matches in the five-aside league.

In other matches, TFC Raja was too strong for Tack Mundial after claiming a 4-2 victory over their opponents, while it was goals galore as 401 thrashed Kilworth Academy 6-3.

Glenstars were the biggest winners on the day, beating Shibobo by 8 goals to 3, while 16 Views edged Real Stars 3-2 to roundup Week Four fixtures.
