ZIMBABWEAN musicians have recorded major commercial and international successes in 2025, with several artists topping digital charts and earning prestigious global awards and nominations, signalling a breakthrough year for the country’s music industry.

Artists including Jah Prayzah, Holy Ten, Master H, Nyasha David and Oriyano dominated streaming platforms throughout the year, driven by hit releases that consistently trended on YouTube and Spotify.

Among the most popular songs were Jah Prayzah’s ‘Ruzhowa’ and ‘Ndini Mukudzeyi’, Oriyano’s ‘Areka’, and Master H’s ‘Haudi Kudiwa’, which attracted strong domestic and international listenership.

Emerging performers such as Nashie Zim, Nisha T and Tamy Moyo also secured chart placements and industry recognition, highlighting a growing pool of young talent within the sector.

Industry analysts say the success of these releases has supported live performances, increased streaming revenues and strengthened Zimbabwe’s music export potential, reinforcing the creative industry’s contribution to economic growth.

Zimbabwean talent also received notable recognition on the global stage. At the 68th Annual Grammy Awards, the historic compilation album ‘Roots Rocking Zimbabwe’ earned a nomination, while Zimbabwean producers Bantu and Dr Chaii were recognised for their work on Burna Boy’s album ‘No Sign of Weakness’.

On the diaspora awards circuit, Holy Ten won Best Hip Hop/Rap Artist, while Oriyano was named Rising Star of the Year at the 11th Annual African Entertainment Awards USA.

Gospel musician Dorcas Moyo further boosted Zimbabwe’s profile by winning Africa Indigenous Gospel Artist of the Year and the People’s Choice Award at the CLIMA Africa Awards in 2025.

From chart dominance to international accolades, Zimbabwe’s music industry has consolidated its presence on the global stage, positioning the country as an increasingly influential player in the international music market.
