December 9 by-elections; electorate urged to vote wisely

Story by Lisa Masuku

AS the nation gears for the December 9 by-elections, the electorate has been implored to vote for a party with people-centred policies to propel transformative development.

ZANU PF National Chairperson, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri addressed a rally in Bulawayo South constituency at Sizinda Hall this Wednesday as the ruling party gears for by-elections set for the 9th of next month.

Cde Muchinguri-Kashiri stressed the need for the electorate to vote for the ruling party that has been at the centre of spearheading development since 1980.

She said, “ZANU PF has been there since 1980. Let’s vote for our candidate Cde Raj Modi.”

She added that the government is seized with the fight against drug and substance abuse.

“Let’s vote wisely. The people who are killing our nation are these Western nations because they do not want to see us prosper. We are fighting a war against colonialism.”

The December 9 by-elections were triggered by recalls instituted by Citizens Coalition for Change Interim Secretary General, Sengezo Tshabangu.
