BUDDING tennis players from the Southern region are set to tussle it out in the second edition of the Polokwane Open Tennis Tournament set for South Africa next month.
With increased sponsorship, the tournament is expected to draw players from Zimbabwe, South Africa, Botswana, Lesotho and Eswatini.
Zimbabwean tennis coach based in South Africa Tawanda Meki is the organiser of the tournament.
“Preparations are in full swing for the second edition of the tournament. We are happy that sponsors have dangled 200 000 Rands prize money. It is not about money for junior tennis players, but it is about remaining in shape through regular playing. We expect Zimbabwe to send more budding tennis players this time around.”
The three-day tennis fiesta will run from June 13 to June 16 in Polokwane.
