THE role of artificial intelligence(AI) in bringing vision to life has come under the spotlight through a book titled: ‘Changamire Dombo: The Legend’ written by acclaimed author Phillip Gwatidzo, which is now part of the A-level English literature setbooks.
The book, which tells the story of one of the greatest kings to have ever ruled in the southern hemisphere, has not only captivated readers but also, through artificial intelligence, immortalises a bygone era.
“Changamire Dombo the Legend is a story captured from the 17th century and inspired by the true events of one of the greatest Kings who has ever graced the southern hemisphere, mostly covering the area we now know as Zimbabwe. I am grateful for the ability of AI because it has taken an idea that I have always had in my head and it has managed to help us capture it in a visual way that I am able to share,” Gwatidzo said.
Praised for its rich storytelling and historical depth, the book has been selected as part of the A-level English Literature curriculum.
“I am grateful to say that Changamire Dombo was selected to be in the curriculum for A-level English literature studies. It is a novel for people of all ages, and it is also part of our set books, which ties into the importance of our culture,” said Mr Gwatidzo.
As the story of Changamire Dombo continues to inspire readers and students alike, Gwatidzo hopes his work will encourage a deeper appreciation of the rich history and traditions of Zimbabwe.
