FIRST Mutual Health has reaffirmed its commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles after hosting its annual Winter Challenge at Mt Pleasant Sports Club in Harare over the weekend.

The event brought together clients, corporate partners and stakeholders for a day of sporting competition, networking and wellness activities aimed at encouraging healthier living and preventive healthcare.

Featuring fitness challenges, recreational games and wellness awareness activities, the Winter Challenge promoted physical, mental and financial well-being as part of First Mutual Health’s broader strategy to strengthen engagement with its clients and partners.

First Mutual Health General Manager, Lynnette Tasaranarwo, said the event reflects the organisation’s commitment to holistic wellness.

“The Winter Challenge brings together our clients and other key stakeholders. It features competitions that test physical fitness, mental wellness and financial knowledge. The objective is to promote the overall health and well-being of our clients holistically,” she said.

First Mutual Holdings Group Marketing and Brand Executive, Tashinga Gomera, said the initiative is designed to inspire healthier lifestyles while strengthening community ties.

“The Winter Challenge brings together our First Mutual Health members and corporate partners to build a strong sense of community. We are promoting a culture of wellness because good health begins with how we live. This event reflects our commitment to putting customers first while championing healthy and balanced living,” he said.

The event also showcased First Care, First Mutual Health’s wellness programme, which focuses on preventive healthcare through physical activity, mental wellness and social well-being.

First Mutual Health Head of Managed Care, Dr Onesai Chiguvare, said the programme seeks to improve both health and productivity through a holistic approach to wellness.

“First Care is all about improving people’s health and productivity. Wellness goes beyond physical fitness to include mental health, emotional well-being and social connectedness. The activities at the Winter Challenge are designed to promote these aspects while encouraging healthier lifestyles and teamwork,” he said.

The Winter Challenge has become one of First Mutual Health’s flagship wellness initiatives, bringing together the corporate community to reinforce the importance of prevention, healthy living and holistic healthcare.
