ZANU PF in Matabeleland North has commended Government for the progress recorded on major infrastructure and development projects across the province during the first quarter of the year.
Speaking during a provincial development review meeting, ZANU PF Matabeleland North Provincial Chairperson, Cde Richard Moyo said the projects reflect Government’s commitment to accelerating economic growth and improving livelihoods.
Among the flagship projects highlighted were the Gwayi-Shangani Dam project, now more than 75 percent complete, and the rehabilitation of the Bulawayo–Victoria Falls Highway, where nearly 60 kilometres have already been upgraded.
The projects are expected to be completed before the end of the year.
Progress is also being recorded on the construction of the Lupane State University Technovation Centre, which is scheduled for completion by 2028.
“We are greatly encouraged by the progress recorded during the first quarter across various developmental projects in Matabeleland North Province,” said Cde Moyo.
“As a province, we express our sincere gratitude to the Central Government under the leadership of His Excellency President Emmerson Mnangagwa for the continued support towards infrastructure development, road rehabilitation, health services improvement and community empowerment initiatives.”
Cde Moyo acknowledged that some projects had experienced delays due to operational challenges affecting global economies, including fuel supply constraints.
“Delays may be witnessed here and there due to challenges being faced globally. As ZANU PF Matabeleland North, we remain fully supportive of these development programmes and applaud the collaborative efforts between Government departments, local authorities and communities in driving Vision 2030 forward,” he said.
The ongoing projects are expected to stimulate economic activity, improve service delivery and strengthen livelihoods across the province.
