Team Zimbabwe shines at African Athletics Championships in Accra

ASHLEY Miller Kamangirira has qualified for the women’s 100-metre hurdles final at the African Athletics Championships after a strong semi-final performance in Accra.
The Zimbabwean national record holder secured her place in the final after finishing second behind Nigerian world record holder Tobi Amusan in the semi-finals held on Wednesday.
Kamangirira, who claimed bronze at the 2024 African Games, posted her first sub-13-second time of the season, raising hopes of another podium finish in the continental competition.
Meanwhile, Zimbabwean sprinters Tapiwanashe Makarawu, Ngoni Makusha and Methembe Tshuma are set to compete in the men’s 100-metre semi-finals later on Wednesday.
In the 400 metres, Leeford Zuze, Dennis Hove and Thandazani Ndhlovu also progressed to the semi-finals after advancing comfortably from their heats.
