TelOne FC are targeting their first win of the season after a slow start that has yielded just two points from four matches, as they prepare to host defending champions Scottland FC at Ascot Stadium on Thursday.
The Gweru-based side, popularly known as the WiFi Boys, are looking to rediscover form following an impressive 2025 campaign in which they finished in the top five for the first time in their history.
Under the guidance of Herbert Maruwa, TelOne have shown flashes of promise but are yet to convert performances into victories, setting up a stern test against a Scottland side that has started the season strongly.
Maruwa, however, remains optimistic ahead of the encounter.
“It is not an easy match. We played them last year, and we won in Harare, and they came here and collected maximum points, so it is a fifty-fifty situation. We have started slowly, but we need to keep a clean sheet and see what happens,” he said.
TelOne showed resilience in their previous outing, coming from behind to secure a draw against FC Platinum in a four-goal thriller, a performance Maruwa believes signals progress.
“We are within the leading pack. We have rectified our shortcomings,” he added.
Elsewhere, FC Hunters face ZPC Kariba at Heart Stadium, while Triangle United take on Agama FC at Gibbo.
Hardrock FC host Herentals FC at Chahwanda Stadium, with a potentially explosive clash at Baobab where Ngezi Platinum Stars entertain in-form CAPS United, now under Takesure Chiragwi.
In Bulawayo, Bulawayo Chiefs face Simba Bhora at Barbourfields, while Manica Diamonds square off against Chicken Inn at Greenfuel Arena.
Dynamos FC host MWOS FC at Rufaro Stadium, before Highlanders FC conclude matchday five action against FC Platinum on Friday at Barbourfields Stadium.
