PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to tackling the country’s skills gap through ongoing training and empowerment initiatives designed to support national development and boost industrial productivity.

Speaking at the graduation ceremony of the 38th Joint Command and Staff Course, where 74 officers graduated at the Zimbabwe Staff College in Harare on Friday, President Mnangagwa emphasised that Zimbabwe will continue to provide the skills and knowledge necessary to foster development, security, and peace across the region.

The graduating students were drawn from the Zimbabwe Republic Police, Zimbabwe Defence Forces and Zimbabwe Prisons and Correctional Services.

In addition, students came from other African countries, including Nigeria, Botswana, South Africa, Tanzania, Zambia among others.

President Mnangagwa urged the graduates to ensure that the lessons learnt at the Zimbabwe Staff College are shared in their respective countries.

He said the graduates should demonstrate critical thinking, adaptability and innovation in the areas they will serve.

The graduation ceremony was attended by the Minister of Defence, Cde Oppah Muchinguri-Kashiri, senior defence forces officers and Chinese military training officers.
